[tip] IBM Support besser verstehen -> effektiv nutzen:  Der Status eines APAR[/tip]

„Was wird den jetzt nun mit unseren Problemen?“  oder „Was will mir IBM mit dieser Information sagen?“
Das sind so die Fragen meiner Kunden.
Anhand der nachfolgenden Beschreibungen sollte es möglich sein die IBM Supportmeldungen besser zu verstehen.
Nicht immer passt die Beschreibung des geschlossenen Record (APAR) zum aufgeführten APAR Closing Code, daher habe ich auch hier die Informationen einzeln gelistet.

Der Record wurde geschlossen: (The record has been closed.)

  1. Ein Programmfehler wurde gefunden. Das Problem wird behoben. Ein Fix steht noch aus.
    A programming error was found. The problem will be corrected. A fix is pending.

  2. Das Problem wird in einem zukünftigen Release behoben.
    The problem will be fixed in a future release. The life cycle of this APAR is complete.

  3. Das Problem kann nicht reproduziert werden.
    Either the problem could not be reproduced on the reported level, a supported level, or on the next release. The life cycle of this APAR is complete.

  4. Es werden mehr Informationen benötigt.
    The record was returned to obtain more information.

  5. Problem wird einen schon vorhanden analogen Problem zu geordnet.
    The report is a rediscovery of an existing record. The life cycle of this APAR is complete.

  6. Benutzer- bzw. Bedienerproblem.
    The problem was caused by a user error. The life cycle of this is complete.

  7. Problem wurde überprüft,  kann aber nicht behoben werden.
    The problem was verified but will not be corrected. It is a permanent restriction of the software. The life cycle of this APAR is complete.

Dann haben wir da noch:

  • Der Record wurde wieder eröffnet. (The record has been re-opened.)
  • Der Record ist offen. (The record has been opened.)
    Subscription to this Authorized Program Analysis Report (APAR) is available.
  • APAR wurde verändert:
    The abstract for this APAR has been changed to: …..

 

APAR Closing Codes

APAR Code
Description
CLOSED CAN
The record was cancelled, probably because it was created mistakenly or a customer requested that the record be cancelled.

Beispiel: kann es nicht geben

CLOSED DOC
The problem was caused by an error in an IBM publication.

Beispiel: die deutsche Hilfe   😈

CLOSED DUU
Closed as duplicate of another APAR.

The record was closed as a duplicate of an open record.

Beispiel: LO48462
This APAR is a duplicate of LO47641

CLOSED FIN
Closed as fixed in next.

The problem will be fixed in a future release if there is one.Fixed If Next release. There is an intention to fix the deficiency if there is another release of the product. This is not a commitment, but expresses intention. ‚Next release‘ is not defined.

CLOSED PER Closed as program error.

A programming error was found and will be corrected in a future release.

Beispiel:LO61129

CLOSED PRS
Closed as Permanent restriction.

A programming error was found but will not be corrected. It is a permanent restriction.

Beispiel: LO58075

CLOSED USE
Closed as user error.

The problem was caused by a user error.

Closed as microcode or hardware problem

Beispiel: LO59027

CLOSED RET
Closed as returned

(APAR cannot be resolved without additional info from IBM or customer.)
